Stillwater Middle School

Recently one of the science teachers at Stillwater Middle School implemented an engineering unit where students were introduced to a scenario in which a town was devastated by a hurricane. Implementing this activity with only one LabQuest was challenging, but it opened the school’s eyes to the possibilities that having a classroom set of Vernier equipment could provide their students.

The Vernier grant will allow teachers to create and implement many innovative data-collection activities and, after students become comfortable using the technology, have students themselves propose data-collection experiments that solve problems related to topics being covered in class.
