Post-Electrophoresis Staining
Electrophoresed gels can be placed in a plastic container, submersed in SYBR Safe DNA Gel Stain in 0.5X TBE for 30 minutes, then viewed with the Blue Digital Bioimaging System. No destaining required.
Pre-Electrophoresis Staining
Adding SYBR Safe DNA Gel Stain 10,000X Concentrate in DMSO while making the agarose solution greatly speeds up the process of obtaining results. Combined at a rate of 1 μl of SYBR Safe 10,000X Concentrate to 10 ml of agarose solution, a standard mini-gel only requires 4 μl of the stain and yields results comparable to ethidium bromide staining. The results can then be viewed with the Blue Digital Bioimaging System.
