Force Plate Data Acquisition
« on: October 30, 2009, 07:35:23 PM »

Hi Vernier Specialist,

actually i am planning on using Force Plate (Order Code:FP-BTA) to carry out my academic research. my plan is to use the info i obtained from force plate and transfer it to the VB. may i know which software is suitable for me to use? (LabQuest, LabPro, Go! Link, EasyLink, CBL 2™, and CBL?)
And are there any specific manual that i can refer so that i can master the way to obtain the info and use it in my VB?

Thx.

KaLi.

Hello -

Thank you for your interest in our products. A few things to note:

- You mentioned that you were going to use the Force Plate for research. Note all Vernier products are designed for educational use only. Our equipment is not designed or recommended for research or any apparatus involved with any industrial or commercial process such as life support, patient diagnosis, control of a manufacturing process, or industrial testing of any kind. More details on our intended use policy and a list of alternative suppliers is posted at:
http://www.vernier.com/legal/pinfo.html

-The sensor does not communicate directly with the computer. It needs to connect to one of our interfaces, which then typically connects to the computer. The software on the computer is usually Logger Pro, which is posted at:
http://www.vernier.com/soft/lp.html

-From Logger Pro, the data can be exported to a variety of formats should you need more analysis features than are present in Logger Pro.

-You mentioned VB. To use our interfaces with Visual Basic or other programming languages, we do provide a Software Developer's Kit as well as common pin configurations fr all of our sensors in the "Do It Yourself" section of our web site at:
http://www.vernier.com/diy/

I hope this helps. Good luck with your project!
