Titration of a Diprotic Acid

Titration of a Diprotic Acid

Students will identify an unknown diprotic acid by a finding its molecular weight with the Vernier pH Sensor and the Vernier Drop Counter. Teacher instructions and modifiable student versions are available in the Chemistry with Vernier lab manual.

Vernier Projectile Launcher

NEW Projectile Launcher

Investigate important concepts in two-dimensional kinematics with the Vernier Projectile Launcher. Sample experiments include:

  • Investigate projectile range as a function of launch angle
  • Predict the landing point of a projectile launched horizontally from a tabletop
  • Determine a launch velocity and an angle necessary to land a projectile on a specified target

Inquiry with Yeast Metabolism

Inquiry with Yeast Metabolism

Students use a Vernier CO2 Sensor to determine the rate of respiration of glucose by yeast. Students can then design their own experiment, such as comparing the respiration rates of different sugars. Many more inquiry-based labs can be found in the new Investigating Biology with Inquiry lab manual available in March.
