Vernier Logger Pro 3.4.6 Released Vernier Software & Technology is pleased to announce the release of Logger ProŽ 3.4.6. We think you will like the changes we have incorporated into this version and recommend all users with systems that meet the requirements update to Logger Pro 3.4.6 for the coming school year. Improvements include support for Intel Macs, expanded Bluetooth radio compatibility, and time offset data analysis. If you already own a previous version of Logger Pro 3, this update is free and available for download. http://www.vernier.com/tech/lpupdates.html For more details about our latest release, read on. 1. Intel Mac Support 2. Import Experiment Files 3. Time Offset Curve Fit Option 4. Expanded GPS and Bluetooth Radio Support 5. Other Features 1. Intel Mac Support One of the major reasons for this release was to support the Intel Mac platform by making use of the new Apple Universal Binary environment. You will definitely see an improvement in speed and smoothness over the previous version when used on an Intel Mac. Note that spectrometer support for Intel Macs is not yet available. We are waiting for Ocean Optics to provide us with an Intel Mac driver for these devices. Contact us for your options at info@vernier.com 2. Import Experiment Files Have you ever wanted to take data from two different Logger Pro files and combine them into one? Now you can. To use this feature, choose "Import From > Logger Pro File" from the File menu and browse to the desired file. This action adds data from the imported file to the current session. 3. Time Offset Curve Fit Option Have you ever modeled the parabolic portion of the Ball Toss experiment data only to find the resulting coefficients do not match what the textbooks said they should represent? Now you have the option to fit any section of data and have the model equation treat the selected data's first point as if it occurred at time zero. Access this feature by selecting Curve Fit or Model from the Analyze menu and select the Time Offset check box. Your model equation will have the expression (t-t0) where t represents time and t0 is the time associated with the first selected data point. 4. Expanded GPS and Bluetooth Radio Support Logger Pro 3.4.6 has expanded support for Garmin GPS units. The Garmin Vista Cx, eTrex Venture, eTrex, and eTrex Vista can be used with a windows computer to record GPS data. Users of our Wireless Dynamics Sensor System now have additional options for compatible Bluetooth radios.
