GPS on Logger Pro and Google Maps

Connect a compatible global positioning system (GPS) unit such as the Garmin eTrex Vista HCx or Garmin eTrex Venture HC to your computer, and use Logger Pro to collect latitude, longitude, and elevation data. You can also take the GPS out into the field without a computer. Save your locations as waypoints, tracks, or routes and then import them into Logger Pro at a later time.

Logger Pro can export your GPS data to a Google™ map! Get an aerial view with satellite images of your GPS points.

Update to the latest version of Logger Pro and you'll find GPS sample data in two places. In Sample Data\Environmental Science, you will find a file with water quality data utilitzing GPS data.

In the file Sample Data\Physics\GPS Sample Data\Test Flight, you will find some data taken during a training flight taken by one of our engineers, who is also a student pilot. He used a GPS to record his position and altitude during a touch-and-go sequence, as well as some other interesting maneuvers.

Afterward he retrieved the data into Logger Pro. Using this sample data, you can try exporting the data to Google Maps; then you can superimpose satellite photos of the area beneath his flight and use other tools available on the Google web site.
