Function Generator

Turn your computer and LabPro into a fun and useful function generator. This program takes advantage of the LabPro interface's ability to generate analog output signals. In order to run the program you must have LabPro operating system 6.22 or higher installed on your LabPro.

You can also download our Function Generator Application that does not require you to have LabVIEW installed.

We have used this LabPro function generator for a number of interesting experiments and demonstrations including:

Driving a stretched string (about a meter long) to produce standing waves

Driving a spring with a small mass

Connecting a small lamp and a current probe in series to the function generator

Controlling a DC voltage

Controlling a sonometer to study vibrations in strings

Note - The use of USB requires that you have a proper USB driver. For Macintosh and Windows users, this driver is installed when you install Logger Pro 3.2. For Windows users, there is also the option of downloading the USB driver separately or download our software development kit (SDK), which includes the USB driver.
