Learning LabVIEW

These are a series of eleven examples that use real data collection to show some of the basics of LabVIEW. Topics that are highlighted include:

  • For Loop
  • While Loop
  • Case Structure
  • Shift Register
  • Analysis VIs
  • Write to File
  • Create Table
With these examples you can also compare the two basic modes of data collection. The modes differ in how data is stored in, and retrieved from LabPro. In real time (RT) collection, data is collected and displayed point-by-point on a chart. In non-real time (NRT) collection, multipoint data is collected and displayed on a graph once all of the data has been retrieved.

Learning the basics of LabVIEW programming, in conjunction with collecting real data, enhances the learning experience and makes it easy to see the possibilities of creating your own custom programs.
