Measure Frequency for Apple II Computers
Frequency Meter |
This program turns the IBM or Apple II into a general-purpose frequency meter covering much of the audio frequency range (20 to 10,000 Hz). There is also a Sound Utilities mode that is designed to help demonstrate the physics of music. For example, the program can be used to show the ratios of the frequencies of a musical scale. A relatively pure tone is required. Human whistles, tuning forks, fifes, and electronic keyboards all work well. A fife is included with the program. A Vernier Microphone is needed to deliver the sound to the game port. Alternatively, a tape recorder and microphone may be used to feed sound to the cassette input port on the Apple II+ or IIe.
