Physics Classes Gain Improved Efficacy and Creativity with New Wireless Dynamics Sensor System

BEAVERTON, Oregon, January 23, 2006 – Vernier Software & Technology introduces a new five-in-one dynamics sensor system that enables high school and college physics classes to measure acceleration, force, and altitude and then send the data to computers wirelessly.

Scheduled to be released in March 2006, the new Wireless Dynamics Sensor System consists of a three-axis accelerometer, force sensor and altimeter built into one unit. The system can be used to study dynamics with cart and track experiments, to study pendulum forces or roller coaster physics and even to measure acceleration, force and altitude in outdoor sports such as skateboarding, hiking, skiing or bungee jumping.

“The new wireless system is a complete sensor system,” said David Vernier, co-founder of Vernier and former physics teacher. “The wireless feature opens up a whole new world of lab ideas for physics teachers because they no longer have the restriction of sensors being hooked to a computer. To my knowledge, Vernier has the only product of this kind that is truly wireless and thus provides the most accurate data.”

Pricing and Compatibility
The Wireless Dynamics Sensor System will be available for $249.00 in March 2006. The system is compatible with Windows XP SP2, Macintosh OS X 10.3 or newer versions and requires a Bluetooth wireless technology enabled computer. Visit www.vernier.com/wdss for more information.
