Vernier Biotechnology
Vernier brings its cutting-edge technology to your biotech lab! The new Blue Digital Bioimaging System allows you to illuminate your gels, capture the image digitally on your computer, and analyze the data using Logger Pro software. The Blue Digital Bioimaging System includes the BlueView Transilluminator™, Imaging Hood, ProScope digital USB camera with 1-10X lens, and a ProScope Stand.
Biology ProScope Kit
The new Biology ProScope Kit includes a digital USB microscope and all the most popular lenses needed for biology. Use the 50X lens as a handheld microscope to examine insects, plants, skin, hair follicles, and more. You can also use it as a dissecting microscope or connect the ProScope to an existing microscope for more powerful magnification.
NABT Ecology/Environmental Science Teaching Award
Vernier is sponsoring an NABT Ecology/Environmental Teaching Award that will be given to a secondary school teacher who has successfully developed and demonstrated an innovative approach in the teaching of ecology/environmental science and has carried his/her commitment to the environment into the community. Our sponsorship of this award includes $500 toward travel to the NABT National Convention, a $500 discretionary fund, and $500 of Vernier equipment. The recipient also receives a plaque to be presented at the NABT National Convention, and a one-year complimentary NABT membership. Nomination deadline is March 15, 2006.
Download the application from the NABT web site.
Human Physiology with Vernier
Our new and highly anticipated lab book, Human Physiology with Vernier, contains 24 human physiology experiments designed to encourage students to think about the physiology of various human organ systems. These activities involve using Vernier sensors such as the Spirometer and Hand Dynamometer to measure the activity of the upper respiratory tract, the lungs, the heart, the nervous system, and the musculoskeletal system.
Science CSI Kit
The Science CSI Kit comes with activities, probeware, interfaces, and software for investigating a ski accident, acid rain, and more! Included in the kit is a ProScope digital USB microscope that magnifies objects up to 200 times and displays the image on your Mac or PC screen.
Spirometer
Our new Spirometer is ideal for monitoring inspiratory and expiratory air flow and for making lung volume measurements.
Hand-Grip Heart Rate Monitor
Use the Hand-Grip Heart Rate Monitor to measure heart rate at rest and during activity.
Blood Pressure Sensor
This non-invasive sensor uses a cuff and a differential pressure transducer to measure human blood pressure.
Hand Dynamometer
Use this strain-gage isometric dynamometer to measure grip strength and perform studies related to muscle fatigue.
