NABT Ecology/Environmental Science Teaching Award
Vernier is sponsoring an NABT Ecology/Environmental Teaching Award that will be given to a secondary school teacher who has successfully developed and demonstrated an innovative approach in the teaching of ecology/environmental science and has carried his/her commitment to the environment into the community. Our sponsorship of this award includes $500 toward travel to the NABT National Convention, a $500 discretionary fund, and $500 of Vernier equipment. The recipient also receives a plaque to be presented at the NABT National Convention, and a one-year complimentary NABT membership. Nomination deadline is March 15, 2006.

GIS Mapping Enhances Salinity Study
In March 2005, Olathe North HS (Olathe, KS) students Kevin Skov and Greg May, along with teacher Steve Obenhaus, took a trip to the southern reaches of Texas to explore Laguna Madre’s hypersaline characteristics. Laguna Madre, a large body of shallow water separating Padre Island from the South Texas mainland, is one of only a few hypersaline lagoons in the world.

Logitech QuickCam Pro 4000
The Logitech® QuickCam® Pro 4000 web camera is an excellent way to inexpensively bring video capture to Logger Pro. The camera has an advanced VGA CCD sensor, and it supports 640 x 480 videos. It has a manual focus lens and is capable of capturing video at 15 frames per second. The QuickCam Pro 4000 connects to the computer through a USB port.
Electrode Support
No more scrounging for metal clamps to hold your electrodes! Use this new accessory to support your Vernier electrodes on a ring stand or Vernier Stir Station. This inexpensive and durable support will hold one electrode, such as pH, Conductivity, ISE, or ORP, and/or a Stainless Steel Temperature Probe.
Vernier Goes Backpack Packing
On August 19th, 20 Vernier employees packed backpacks with school supplies for Schoolhouse Supplies. The eager team packed 386 backpacks with pouches, folders, rulers, spiral notebooks, pencils, and crayons donated by Vernier Software & Technology.
All the backpacks then were delivered to Creston Elementary in Portland, OR to start the students off to a new year with the supplies they’ll use to learn, grow, and succeed.
Human Physiology with Vernier
Our new and highly anticipated lab book, Human Physiology with Vernier, contains 24 human physiology experiments designed to encourage students to think about the physiology of various human organ systems.
