Hands-on Science with iPad
Use iPad® with Vernier technology for personalized and engaging teaching and learning in science. Vernier offers data collection, data analysis, video analysis, and curriculum resources, all tailored for the ease of use and personalization of iPad.
Data Collection and Analysis with iPad
Combine iPad with Vernier technology and curriculum for a fluid, intuitive, and personal experience as students create and share data.
How Data Sharing Works
- Students in a lab group set up an experiment with Vernier sensors and LabQuest 2.
- Students use the iPad app, Graphical Analysis for iPad, to wirelessly start data collection.
- Experiment data is streamed from LabQuest 2 to each students’ app.
- Each lab group member performs an individual analysis of the data on iPad.
- Students take their data and analysis home on the iPad for further analysis and lab reports.
What You Need
Graphical Analysis for iPad
Vernier’s data collection and analysis app for iPad provides a personal learning experience where students can perform individual analysis on shared experiment data.
LabQuest 2 or Logger Pro
LabQuest 2 allows students to collaboratively collect sensor data for an experiment. Connect up to five sensors simultaneously and wirelessly share sensor data to every iPad in a lab group in real time. Logger Pro, our computer-based graphing software, can also be used to stream sensor data to iPad.
Sensors
Use any of the 90 different sensors to collect data for temperature, pH, force, and more. Vernier’s sensors are well supported and easy to use, and provide consistent, high-quality results for the demands of the classroom.
Lab Books
Enhance your curriculum with Vernier lab books. Each lab book includes science experiments with student instructions for using data-collection technology.
Video Analysis App
Vernier Video Physics
Video Physics brings physics video analysis to the iPhone®, iPod touch®, and iPad®. Take a video of an object in motion, mark its position frame by frame, and instantly analyze the position, velocity and acceleration of the object.
Video Physics is perfect for analysis of motion on the go. Explore frames of reference at the supermarket checkout or analyze the path of a basketball shot.
iBooks
Investigating Environmental Science through Inquiry iBook
Investigating Environmental Science through Inquiry iBook is the student companion that contains all student versions from the lab manual, a new glossary feature, and images in full color.
