Connect to a Network Overview

The Connected Science System is a networked collection of technology, meaning that all devices need to be connected to the same wireless (Wi-Fi) network to communicate with each other. In this tutorial, you will enable Wi-Fi on LabQuest 2, then connect LabQuest 2 and all mobile devices to the same Wi-Fi network.

If you have an existing Wi-Fi network at your school or university, you can access the network from LabQuest 2. This is the preferred method of connection.

If you do not have an existing Wi-Fi network, you can create an “ad-hoc” wireless network on LabQuest. This network is created entirely by LabQuest, does not require a router or network hub, and will not provide internet access.
