Why doesn�t my new photogate autoID?

Answer

The cable that comes with the post-July 2003 photogates has a six-conductor clear plastic telephone style connector at the photogate end. The cable looks much like the cable that came with the older photogates, but the old cables had a four conductor telephone connector.

The old cable will work with the new photogate, but the autoID function won't work because the necessary connection is not made.

solution: Use the cable that came with the photogate.

Only Logger Pro 3.2 and later is capable of identifying photogates. Datapro for Palm and DataGate for calculator do not do autoID photogates.
