Does the Vernier Rotational Motion Accessory Kit (AK-RMV) work with the older Rotary Motion Sensors (RMS-BTD or RMS-ULI)?

Everything in the Rotational Motion Accessory Kit, order code AK-RMV, $110 will work with the older sensors with one important exception. To apply a torque to the 3-step pulley, you need to attach a pulley (ultra-pulley or smart pulley) to the rotary motion sensor. With our kit we attach our ultra-pulley to the newer rotary motion sensor (RMV-BTD)with a 1/4-20 screw. On the older (RMS) units, there is no 1/4-20 nut; however there are a couple of work arounds.

1) The RMS was manufactured by Pasco. Their approach to attaching a pulley to the RMS is to use a their Super Pulley with Clamp (ME-9448A). You can purchase this item from Pasco and then use the Rotational Motion Accessory Kit with the older rotary motion sensors.

2) The RMS comes with a Rod Stand Clamp. One end of the Rod Stand Clamp has a 1/4-20 nut. This allows you to attach our ultra-pulley, which is a part of the AK-RMV, to the RMS. But you then do not have a way to attach the RMS to a rod stand. Vernier does not sell Rod Stand Clamps but they might be available from Pasco.
