Question

My accelerometer shows up as a Current Probe on LabQuest.

Answer

With some accelerometers, it is possible that they will Auto-ID incorrectly on a LabQuest.

The problem is caused by tolerances on the components of the accelerometer. A temporary workaround is to plug the sensor into a different channel of the LabQuest.

LabQuest units manufactured after May of 2008 will no longer exhibit this behavior and can compensate for any weakness in the sensors. If you have this problem, contact Vernier, and we will upgrade your LabQuest.
