How do I distribute Logger Pro to my students?

Every copy of Logger Pro 3 software includes a site license which allows you to install Logger Pro 3 on:
* Any computer in a science department (college or university) or school (K-12)
* Personal computers of students and faculty in a science department or school.

The benefit of the site license is access and availability to Logger Pro 3 in and out of the classroom. Students can easily use it for special projects or to complete lab work outside of class time. Graphs and other objects from Logger Pro 3 can be copied and pasted into other applications such as a word processor and spreadsheet for reports and papers.

U.S. customers can share Logger Pro 3 with students in three ways. For customers located outside of the U.S., please see additional instructions at the bottom of the page.

Option 1: Distribute from Vernier's website
Create a free account on Vernier's website to download Logger Pro 3 and distribute it to your students.
• Download Logger Pro 3 to any computer in your school or college department, regardless of whether a previous version is installed.
• Send students an email with full download and installation instructions so they can install Logger Pro 3 on their home computers.

To set up your Vernier account:
1. Create an account according to the instructions listed here:

2. Once your account is set up, sign in. On the upper right side of your profile, you will see a message about distributing Logger Pro 3.

If you see the following distribution message, your Logger Pro 3 license has been verified based on the email address you signed up with. You can now download and distribute Logger Pro 3.

Click the "Download Logger Pro 3" link to access installers and passwords.
Note: Once your account is verified, you may choose to distribute the download links via email or download the installer and move it to a USB drive or school network location for distribution. Once downloaded, you are permitted to post the installer to a school network for student access, as long as it is not accessible to the public.

Click the "Distribute Logger Pro 3 to Your Students" link to construct an email message which includes the installation links and instructions. You can then send this message to the email address associated with your account. From your email account, you can then forward the message to your students.

If you see the following verification message, then your Logger Pro 3 license has not yet been verified. Click the link to submit a verification request. You will be notified when your request has been processed.

Option 2: Use your Logger Pro 3 CD
You can use the Logger Pro 3 CD you received as part of your order to distribute Logger Pro 3 within your department or school. Additionally, five-packs of CDs are available for current owners of Logger Pro 3: Logger Pro 3 Student CD 5 Pack, order code LP-ST5, $10. You can also copy the Logger Pro 3 CD yourself, but be sure to use a disc-copy utility, such as Easy CD Creator (Windows) or Disk Utility (included with Mac OS X), so that the entire disc contents are copied. Once Logger Pro 3 is installed from the CD, you can update to the latest version of Logger Pro 3 at:

Note: If your CD is for Logger Pro 3.8.3 or earlier and you are installing on a Windows 7 machine, we recommend installing the most recent version of Logger Pro directly. Contact Vernier Technical Support at 888.837.6437 for an installation link and password.

Option 3: Logger Pro 3 Demo
