Video capture in Logger Pro fails on my Windows computer, but works with Windows utilities

Answer

There is a freeware utility called ffdshow that adds additional video and audio codecs to Windows applications. It can be configured to block communication between cameras and all video applications, regardless of compatibility information.

ffdshow is not compatible with Logger Pro and can sometimes cause a complete crash of Logger Pro.

To be able to do video capture with Logger Pro, uninstall ffdshow.
