My Vernier GPS or LabQuest 2 GPS shows a lot of scatter when it is at rest.

The data shown were collected with the Vernier GPS at rest. The points apparently show scatter, but if you look at the scale, you can see that the variation is in a six or eight meter range. This is an entirely normal variation over a minute or two of data collection. You can expect the same variation in data collected with the LabQuest 2 GPS.
