Question

LabQuest Updater Fails with message about thumb drive not configured correctly.

Answer

If the .lqu file is in a different folder than the "fw_pre" and "fw" folders, the updater will fail with the message:

The USB THUMB DRIVE is not configured correctly. Please download the updater again and retry the update.

The zip file was probably not unzipped correctly. In order for the LabQuest 1.2 updater to work, the following folders and files must all be at the same level on the thumb drive:
LQ_1.3_2009-09-04_Update.lqu
fw_pre
fw

Try extracting the files from the zip file again, then retry the update. If that fails, you may need to download the file and try again.
