The Ethanol Sensor, order code ETH-BTA, $109 needs to warm up for 5 minutes in air or over a sample of water. On first use, the ethanol sensor may need more than 5 minutes to warm up.

If sensor readings are inaccurate, check the live voltage in the calibration screen. In air, the reading should be close to 5 volts (4.7 or above).

If the sensor is slow to warm up you can do the following:

1 Expose the sensor to a dilute sample of ethanol (2-3%) for 5 minutes.

2. Remove the sensor from the sample and allow the sensor to return to baseline in air. The sensor voltage should approach 5V again within a few minutes.

Your sensor should now warm up in less than 5 minutes the next time you use it.
