Sometimes a student will discover the language setting on the LabQuest and decide it is amusing to change the language to something other than English. Below are instructions to change it back again.

LabQuest 3
Tap the Settings icon, , than tap the Languages icon, . Select the appropriate language. English is the first language in the list.

LabQuest 2
In order to change it back again, you will need to find the System folder on the LabQuest. To get there, tap the Home icon. The System folder is usually the bottom right folder, but it may be different depending on the language. When you find the System folder, it will contain an icon that looks like the United Nations flag. This is the Language menu. Scroll through the language menu to find English (or whatever you prefer). English is at the top of the menu.

Original LabQuest
Tap Home. Select the Control Panel options. This option is the last one in the list. From the control panel options, select the one associated with System Information. The entry has a Gear next to it, but so does the Viewer Setup. System Information will have several tabs, Viewer setup does not. From the System Information screen tap the last tab, which is for Region. Scroll through the region menu to find English (or whatever you prefer). English is at the top of the menu.

Once you choose the language, LabQuest will tell you (in whatever language it is currently set in) that you will have to restart the unit in order to change the language. The message will have two choices at the bottom of the screen which correspond to No and Yes. The Yes choice is the one on the far right (closer to the bottom right corner of the screen) in languages that are read left to right. For languages that are read right to left, such as Hebrew and Arabic, the Yes choice is on the far left, closest to the bottom left corner.
