The web browser cookie is corrupted and needs to be deleted. The web browser cookie stores a cart ID number that is mismatched, so changes to the cart don’t go anywhere.

The recommended solution is to delete the web browser cookie. You can delete all the browser cookies, but it is better to specifically delete “vst_cart” for vernier.com

Here are instructions on how to clear browser cookies for major web browsers.

Chrome
1. Click on the menu icon on the top right, which looks like three dots.
2. Choose the “Settings” menu item and Settings should open in a new tab.
3. Enter “cookies” in the top search field.
4. Click on “Content settings”.
5. Click “Cookies”.
6. Click “See all cookies and site data”.
7. Enter “vernier.com” in the search near the top right “Search cookies”.
8. Select the site “www.vernier.com” and it should reveal all of the cookies for Vernier’s website.
9. Click on the “X” to the right of “vst_cart”.
10. You can now close the “Settings” browser window.

Safari
1. Click on Safari on the top menu bar.
2. Click “Preferences”.
3. Click “Privacy” along the top.
4. Click on “Manage Website Data…”, which opens up a new window.
5. Search for “vernier.com” in the search field near the top right of the window.
6. Select “vernier.com” in the list of websites with stored data.
7. Click on the “Remove” button.
8. Click “Done”.
9. Close the Preferences window.

Firefox
1. Click on the menu icon on the top right, which looks like three horizontal lines.
2. Click on “Options”.
3. Select “Privacy” on the left side list.
4. Click the link “remove individual cookies” and a Cookies window opens.
5. Type “vernier.com” in the search field.
6. Select “vst_cart” cookie name from the list.
7. Click “Remove Selected” button on the bottom left of the Cookies window.
8. Click the “Close” button near the bottom right of the Cookies window.
9. Close the “Options” window.

Internet Explorer
Note: Internet Explorer does not allow you to remove specific website cookies.
1. Click on the gear icon on the top right.
2. Select “Safety”.
3. Select “Delete browsing history…” and the Delete Browsing History window opens.
4. Check all the boxes to de-select them except “Cookies and website data”.
5. Click the “Delete” button.

Edge
Note: Edge does not allow you to remove specific website cookies.
1. Click on the three dots on the top right of the browser window.
2. Click on “Settings” at the bottom.
3. Click on “Choose what to clear” button under Clear browsing data.
4. Check all boxes to de-select them except “Cookies and saved website data”.
5. Click on “Clear” button.
