Question
Trying to run an MS-DOS program from Windows 95 or Windows 98.
Answer
Yes, you can run our DOS programs in Windows 95/98, but not in Windows NT or Windows 2000. We have posted several helpful tips on using our DOS based software at the following Vernier web address:

The fundamental problem is that our MS-DOS programs were intended for use in MS-DOS. When an MS-DOS window is opened in Windows 95 or 98, a DOS shell is opened which is not really the same as MS-DOS. The same thing is true when you select the Restart in MS-DOS option on the Start Menu from Windows 95.
Another option is to move to our Windows software, Logger Pro. This would require that you have an ULI or LabPro interface. Logger Pro can't collect data from photogates attached to the game port. If you choose to collect data using Logger Pro and a computer interface box, the same photogates you used with Precision Timer can probably be used (perhaps with an adapter).
