Question
Can I use Pasco Educational Spectrophotometer with Vernier equipment?
Answer
The large metal part of the apparatus for the Pasco Educational Spectrophotometer is custom-built by Pasco, but the data collection part of it is very similar to equipment that we have. Although we could help with the data acquisition portion, we do not sell the apparatus itself.
The Pasco Educational Spectrophotometer ( OS-8537 or OS-8539) uses both a Rotary Motion Sensor and a Pasco High Sensitivity Light Sensor ( CI-6604). We have a rotary motion sensor with exactly the same specifications as Pasco's, but we do not have an identical light sensor. The light sensor used for this lab has a smaller range than our light sensor. Unfortunately, this sensor can not be adapted to work with any of our interfaces, as it uses an 8 pin DIN connector and requires a +/- 10 volt power supply.
