Hattiesburg High School

Grant Winner Badge

Hattiesburg high school, whose students are from predominantly minority backgrounds and low-income homes, has teamed with the faculty and practicing scientists at the University of Southern Mississippi (USM) to plan engaging activities and investigations for their grade 10-12 students.

The goal of this program is to encourage students to pursue their interest in science and engineering. Using Vernier technology, students will collaborate with the graduate fellows from USM assigned to their classrooms to incorporate probeware-based lab experiences into the normal classroom routine of studying many facets of organic chemistry.
