Beaverton, OR – March 22, 2006 – Starting in June, Vernier Software & Technology will offer science and math educators extensive training in data-collection technology at 24 locations throughout the United States. Educators can find more information at www.vernier.com/workshop and sign up to be notified by e-mail when registration opens for specific workshops.
Educators will spend one to two days with a skilled trainer, learning how to integrate computer and handheld data-collection technology into their science and math curriculum. These hands-on workshops will include lunch and lab handouts.
Vernier Summer Workshops
These one-day general data-collection workshops feature a wide variety of activities in chemistry, biology, physics, math, middle school science, physical science, and Earth science. During training, teachers will have a choice of using computers, TI calculators, or Palm Powered handhelds. The registration fee is $50, or participants can opt for one of the training packages. Packages include either the LabPro Interface, Logger Pro® Software and Temperature Probe for $299 or LabPro Interface, Light Sensor and Temperature Probe for $250.

Vernier-Flinn AP Chemistry Workshops
During these two-day summer workshops, teachers do many of the 22 experiments recommended by The College Board. The $99 registration fee includes a copy of the “Advanced Chemistry with Vernier” lab book. The three workshop locations are Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL; and Los Angeles, CA.
Tech Trio (Vernier, TI, Ward’s) AP Biology Workshops
These two-day summer workshops feature hands-on training with seven of the AP Biology lab activities recommended by The College Board. The $99 registration fee includes a copy of the “Biology with Computers” lab book. The four workshop locations are Miami, FL; Worcester, MA; Chicago, IL; and Los Angeles, CA.
Vernier-AAPT-PTRA Physics Workshops
These two-day summer workshops feature hands-on training that enables teachers of physics, physical science, and cross-over teachers to become more highly qualified in content, teaching techniques, and technology. The $99 registration fee includes a copy of the “Physics with Computers” lab book. The three workshop locations are Georgia College and State University, GA; Metropolitan State College, CO; and Lee College, TX.
