Vernier Software & Technology was recently named the recipient of the American Chemical Society’s (ACS) Partners for Progress and Prosperity (P3) Award for the Northwest region. The award encourages and recognizes successful and exemplary partnerships between industry, academia, government, small business and/or other organizations – including ACS local sections, ACS divisions, ACS international chapters – that impact outcomes in one or more of the following categories:
- Improving the public perception and appreciation for chemistry
- Promoting career advancement opportunities and/or supporting entrepreneurship in the chemistry enterprise
- Advancing advocacy efforts with government and other thought leaders
- Supporting STEM education and/or research
Vernier was recognized in part for its relationship with the Portland section of ACS and its support of ACS programming for national ACS meetings, the Northwest Regional Meeting (NORM), and local section meetings. The company was also recognized for its local and national support of science and math teachers through its workshops, technical support for equipment, and consistent development of useful technology for teaching students with hands-on experiments.
Vernier will be formally recognized at the 2016 ACS NORM being held this June in Anchorage, Alaska.
