How It Works

Connections lessons follow a predictable pattern of instruction that forms an inquiry cycle:

  • Begin with a common experience of a real-world phenomenon.
  • Elicit students’ current knowledge, skills, and understanding
  • Conduct hands-on investigations
  • Analyze and interpret data
  • Reassess and revise initial ideas and models of the phenomenon
  • Apply learning in a new context

Plus, Connections lessons support both independent and cooperative learning.
