Although the Physics program was originally written for the original CBL, it has been adapted to work with the CBL 2 and LabPro interfaces. The use of photogates is different depending on the type of interface that is being used. The program will advise you which channel to connect the photogate.

  • The original CBL will only work with photogates that are plugged into analog CH1 . This requires the photogate to have a CBL-P (single photogate) or a CBL-2P (dual photogate) adapter. Note: both of these adapters have been discontinued.
  • The CBL 2 and LabPro will only work with photogates that are plugged into the DIG/SONIC 1 port (or DIG/SONIC2 for LabPro only). This requires the photogate to have a BT Photogate Cable (PG-BTD) or appropriate adapter. Note: The CBL-P and CBL-2P adapters that are required to work with the original CBL will not work with the LabPro or CBL 2.
