This information pertains to the original LabQuest.

If you have LabQuest 2, see this article.

The flash drive or SD card is not configured correctly
This can happen if the files are not properly extracted from the LQv1.x-Update.zip file. Download the file again, and then verify that the files are in the appropriate locations. For more information, see What is the ideal way to prepare a USB thumb drive for updating original LabQuest?

The LabQuest memory is too full to proceed
This can happen when you have too many user files for the space allocated in the new file system. Delete some of the user files on the LabQuest, and try performing the update again.

The update encountered an error trying to save user data
This can happen if your flash drive or SD card does not have enough available memory or is write-protected. Ensure you have at least 100 MB of free space and that any write protection on the flash drive is disabled. If the problem persists, try a different flash drive (or SD card if update other than 1.5).

The update encountered an internal error unpacking data
This can happen if the update fails while copying the update files to the LabQuest memory. Reboot the LabQuest (tap on the Home icon, select System Information, and then select Reboot). After rebooting, try performing the update again. If the update still fails, contact Vernier for technical support.

The FLASH update encountered a problem but will proceed
This can happen if one or more of the redundant files fail to properly install during an update. A failure to install one of these files should not affect the LabQuest performance. Proceed with the update. If the update fails, contact Vernier for technical support.
