My TI calculator will not turn on, what can I do?

We recommend contacting Texas Instruments directly if you are having trouble getting your calculator to turn on. TI can be contacted at:
     phone: 1-800 TI CARES (1-800-842-2737)
     email: ti-cares@ti.com

Here are some things to try before you contact Texas Instruments:

For TI-73, TI-83, TI-84, TI-86, TI-89, TI-92 and Voyage 200...
     1) Be sure you are using batteries that you know are good. Take them from another calculator that works.
     2) After putting in batteries, adjust the contrast ([2nd] followed by [up arrow] or [Green Diamond] followed by [ + ]). Be sure to alternately press these keys.
     3) Remove (or replace) the backup battery and retry steps 1 & 2.
     4) Massage the keys to ensure none of them are pinched under the casing.
     5) Press and hold the clear key, then remove one of the batteries. Wait a few seconds, replace the battery, and then release the clear key.
     6) Press and hold the delete key, then remove one of the batteries. Wait a few seconds, replace the battery, and then release the delete key.

For the TI-Nspire handhelds
     1) Be sure you are using batteries that you know are good. Take them from another calculator that works.
     2) Press the reset button located on the back of the unit.
     3) Adjust the contrast ([ctrl] followed by [ + ]). Be sure to alternately press these keys.

If none of these things help, contact Texas Instruments at 1-800-TI CARES for further technical assistance.
