To use the internal sensors on the WDSS to make rotational physics measurements, it is important to know exactly where the accelerometer is located inside the unit.

If the unit is face up, the sensor is located 53 mm from the edge with the force sensor and 23 mm from the side printed with “Wireless Dynamics Sensor System” printed on the plastic.

Alternatively the students can find its location experimentally by following a protocol similar to

and either use a photogate with a small flag or video analysis to get the rotational velocity.
