Q: Does TI only sell subscription software now?
A: Yes. In March of 2022, TI discontinued selling perpetual licenses for all TI software.
Q: If I purchase a multi-year subscription, can I move a subscription license to a different computer or add it back if my computer is reimaged?
A: Yes, however you will need to contact Texas Instruments to assist you with reinstalling the software.
Q: Is there TI-SmartView for Chromebooks?
A: TI has created the TI-84 Plus CE online calculator for use on Chromebooks. While the online calculator has most of the functionality found in the TI-SmartView computer software, the online calculator cannot collect sensor data, cannot be use with the TI-Innovator hub, and does not support Python programming.
Q: I have used up my installations of TI-SmartView Volume licenses [because my computers are reimaged every year], but I still need to install the software. How can I do this?
A: TI is pretty good about assisting you in reactivating your licenses in this case. It will be necessary to contact them directly for that assistance at 1-800-TI CARES.
Q: I have lost the activation code to my TI software, can you resend it to me?
A: Unfortunately we do not have access to, or knowledge of, activation codes for TI software. It will be necessary to contact Texas Instruments directly for that information at 1-800-TI CARES.
Q: Which data-collection devices can I use with TI-SmartView software?
A: Data-collection devices that can be used with TI-SmartView software will depend on the version of the software you are running.
