Data Collection with Go Wireless Temp FAQs
Q: What are the steps to start data collection with a Go Wireless Temp?
A: Follow the instructions for your data collection platform: https://www.vernier.com/start/gw-temp

Q: Can multiple devices collect data from one Go Wireless Temp at the same time?
A: While you can monitor sensor values from multiple devices, once a device connects to a sensor (indicated by the LED flashing green) and only that device will be able to view data from that sensor.

Q: Can I use more than one Go Wireless Temp probe at a time on the same device?
A: See the instructions for your app:
Graphical Analysis GW on iOS: yes
Graphical Analysis GW on Android: no
LabQuest 2 and LabQuest 3: yes
Logger Pro 3: yes

Q: Can I use Go Wireless Temp with other Vernier sensors?
A: See the instructions for your app:
Graphical Analysis GW on iOS: yes
Graphical Analysis GW on Android: no
LabQuest 2 and LabQuest 3: yes
Logger Pro 3: yes

Q: How do I change the sampling rate of my sensor?
A: See the instructions for your app:
Graphical Analysis GW on iOS: Tap Mode in the lower left corner of the app
Graphical Analysis GW on Android: Select Data Collection from the Overflow menu options
LabQuest 2 and LabQuest 3: From the Meter View, tap on the box that displays the Mode/Rate/Duration
Logger Pro 3: Select Data Collection from the Experiment menu

Q: How do I control the duration of my experiment?
A: See the instructions for your app:
Graphical Analysis GW on iOS: Tap Mode in the lower left corner of the app
Graphical Analysis GW on Android: Select Data Collection from the Overflow menu options
LabQuest 2 and LabQuest 3: From the Meter View, tap on the box that displays the Mode/Rate/Duration
Logger Pro 3: Select Data Collection from the Experiment menu

Q: Can I continue to collect data while using another application or when my iOS/Android device is in sleep mode?
A: As long as the Go Wireless Temp probe remains on and is in range of the mobile device, the data-collection app will continue to collect data in the background.

Q: Can you program the Go Wireless Temp probe to log data offline?
A: The Go Wireless Temp probe does not log data offline.

Q: Can I use the Go Wireless Temp while it is underwater?
A: We have designed and tested the Go Wireless Temp to be able to be submerged under 1 m of water for 30 min. However, water greatly attenuates the signal so getting live readings may be difficult in depths greater than a few inches.

Q: Can I start collecting data, submerge it in water, then retrieve the data after data collection is complete?
A: The Go Wireless Temp probe does not log data offline so it cannot be used to collect data this way.

Q: Can I collect data while the battery is charging?
A: Yes, charging does not interfere with data collection.

Q: Can I collect data “wired” to a computer using the charging cable?
A: No, the charging cable will only charge the unit. There is no sensor data communication via this cable.

Q: Can I change units?
A: See How do I change units for Go Wireless Temp?
