The EV3 was designed to automatically identify EV3 and NXT LEGO sensors that have been connected to any of its input ports. Unfortunately, it does not have the capability at this time to auto-ID sensors from Vernier and automatically defaults to thinking a LEGO Sound Sensor is connected.
Another issue that this causes is in the oscilloscope view in Data Logging. Turn this view off because it is giving incorrect readings. If you are in the Data Logging software, you can select the proper Vernier sensor in the Sensor Setup and then download and run a data-logging program.
