If a computer is started after several weeks of being shut down (like after a summer break), there will be many Windows Updates to download and apply to the system. This assumes the machine is connected to the Internet. Windows gives Windows Updates a higher priority, which makes everything else run slower until those updates are downloaded and applied. If you attempt to install Logger Pro (or really do anything with that computer) before the update process is done, the installation can take a very long time.

Workarounds:
-Wait for the updates to finish, then install Logger Pro.
-Disconnect the computer from the network before installing/ updating Logger Pro.
-Just leave the computer connected overnight, and let Windows complete the update process. In the morning, install Logger Pro.
