FLIR ONE® Thermal Camera for iOS (FLIRONE-IOS, discontinued)

Vernier sells three versions of the FLIR ONE thermal camera. For a direct comparison of specifications, see: What is the difference between the different models of Flir cameras?

There are a number of apps available to use with the FLIR ONE cameras. The FLIR ONE app is free and available in the app store. Vernier publishes Thermal Analysis Plus (a paid app) which allows graphing of temperature vs. time for up to four spots or regions, and which allows export to our data analysis software (Logger Pro and Graphical Analysis GW). Vernier’s free app, Thermal Analysis, is no longer available in the App Store and is not compatible with 3rd generation FLIR ONE cameras. Those who still have the free app on their device can use that app with 2nd generation FLIR ONE cameras.

Note that the free Thermal Analysis app (discontinued) does detect the unsupported FLIR ONE Pro, Pro LT, and 3rd generation FLIR ONE cameras, but gives poor images and incorrect temperature readings. With these newer cameras, use either the free FLIR ONE app or Thermal Analysis Plus.

TROUBLESHOOTING
– Primary Camera Test: Charge the battery for the FLIR ONE Thermal Imaging Camera. Download the FLIR One app from the App Store. Attach the camera to the lightning connector on your iOS device and launch the FLIR One app. Turn your camera on by depressing the button. The app should recognize your camera and show you a thermal image.

-Minimum software version: Vernier Thermal Analysis Plus requires iOS 11.2.5 or newer.

-Minimum hardware requirements: The FLIR ONE cameras for iOS require an iOS or iPadOS device with Lightning connector, such as iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch.

For full functionality, use the following devices or newer:

iPad Air 2
iPhone 5S, 6/6 Plus, 7/7 Plus, 8/8 Plus, X
iPad Mini 4
iPad Pro (any size)

Devices older than these will have the manual range option and the screen alignment features disabled.

How to use Vernier Thermal Analysis for FLIR ONE provides a good overview of the app features.
