Windows 7 Operating Systems, which are significantly behind in Windows Updates, may experience problems in installing and finalizing the device driver for Go Direct® SpectroVis® Plus Spectrophotometer (GDX-SVISPL), after installation of Logger Pro. This can result in the driver being flagged as having a problem after plugging in the Go Direct SpectroVis Plus the first time. This can be prevented by insuring Windows is current with all OS updates before attempting to use the GDX-SVISPL.

This does not affect Windows 10 or Windows 8.1 installations.

If the GDX-SVISPL driver is flagged as having problems, unplug the spectrometer and reboot the system. Once it comes back up, plug the power adapter for the GDX-SVISPL into the device and then reconnect the spectrometer to the computer via USB. Sometimes a simple reboot will solve the issue — particularly if there are pending Windows Updates. There can also be power related startup issues with the GDX-SVISPL on certain USB ports on some machines; plugging the device’s power adapter in prior to USB connection can mitigate those issues.

If the spectrometer still is not properly detected, run Windows Update until the OS is fully updated and try again.

GDX-SVISPL was first supported in Logger Pro 3.13.
