Windows 10 has an “S” mode that restricts what apps can be installed. Schools may opt to run Windows 10 only in S Mode, and certain devices such as tablets, may be delivered in S mode. Only applications distributed through the Microsoft Store may be installed on a device running in S Mode. See Microsoft’s description of this OS.
S mode can be disabled by the user, but some IT departments may be unwilling to allow this.
At this time no Vernier apps are available through the Microsoft Store, and as a result Windows 10 S does not allow Vernier apps to run.
