{"id":1170,"date":"2006-04-11T16:19:12","date_gmt":"2006-04-11T23:19:12","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-30T07:00:00","slug":"1170","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vernier.com\/til\/1170","title":{"rendered":"Why is F11 not working to stop and start data collection in Logger Pro 3?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A macro or shortcut for the F11 key on your machine will prevent Logger <i>Pro<\/i> 3 from starting and stopping the data collection using that key,  because the computer OS will intercept the keypress and Logger <i>Pro<\/i> will never get the information.<\/p>\n<p>Note that in Macintosh OSX 10.3 or 10.4 the F11 key can be reserved for Expose&#8217;, which will interfere with the data collection hot key. Expose&#8217; does allow you to change from F11 to another key, which will again allow Logger <i>Pro<\/i> to use F11. <\/p>\n<p>If you have Logger <i>Pro<\/i> 3.3 or newer, the keyboard triggering feature (see Data Collection\/Triggering tab) will allow you to set up data collection, then initiate it with hitting any key on the keyboard.<\/p>\n<p>Logger <i>Pro<\/i> 3.4 or newer also features space-bar collection.
