With one end of the track supported by the ring stand, it is easy to create a ramp or incline for motion experiments.<\/p>\n<p>The video below shows how to use the Rod Clamp with a Vernier dynamics Track.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video height=\"1080\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 1920 \/ 1080;\" width=\"1920\" controls src=\"https:\/\/www.vernier.com\/til\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/09\/Rod-Clamp.mp4\"><\/video><\/figure>\n<p>Some tips:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Depending on how tall the ring stand is, it may be easiest to slide the Rod Clamp onto the ring stand first (as in the video).<\/li>\n<li>The Rod Clamp attaches to the side channel of the dynamics track.<\/li>\n<li>Position the ring stand base under the track, to make the setup more stable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>With a bit of foresight, you can simplify the process of calculating the angle the track. <\/p>\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Remove both sets of <a href=\"\/product\/adjustable-two-foot-leveler\/\">Adjustable Two-Foot Leveler<\/a> (<nobr>AL-VDS<\/nobr>) from the track.<\/li>\n<li>Rest the &#8220;zero&#8221; end of the track on the table top, and attach the other end to the Rod Clamp\/ring stand. <\/li>\n<li>Choose a position along the track (<em>x<\/em>) in the diagram below. <\/li>\n<li>Use a ruler or meter stick to measure the height of the bottom edge of the track (<em>h<\/em>) at that position.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The position <em>x<\/em>, as measured by the ruler on the track, is the hypotenuse formed by the track, table top, and ring stand. Likewise, the height <em>h<\/em> measured by the ruler or meter stick is the side opposite the angle or the track.
