For that app, see<br \/><a href=\"\/til\/4013\/\">How do I update firmware on Go Direct sensors?<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This Windows-only firmware update tool will fix the problem with Go Direct Temperature Probes reporting temperatures of ~500\u00b0C when the actual temperature is near 0\u00b0C. All affected probes have serial numbers beginning with <strong>0F3<\/strong> and are running firmware version 5.1.0. Additional details can be found at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vernier.com\/til\/15964\">www.vernier.com\/til\/15964<\/a><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Requirements for the GDX-TEMP (0F3) update tool<\/h3>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Windows 10 or Windows 11 (no macOS support)<\/li>\n<li>32bit or 64bit architecture. ARM architectures are <strong>not<\/strong> <strong>supported<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>USB cable<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Install the GDX-TEMP (0F3) update tool<\/h3>\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The installer can be downloaded from here: <a href=\"https:\/\/gdx-atmel-fw-updater.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com\/latest\/Vernier-GDX-Firmware-Update.exe\">Vernier-GDX-Firmware-Update.exe<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Double-click the installer to start.<\/li>\n<li>The installer will open and copy a few files.<\/li>\n<li>The installer will then start a separate installer for Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2019 Redistributable (x86).<\/li>\n<li>The installer will then start a separate installer for a tool called SAM-BA.<\/li>\n<li>Click Close to finish.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Update GDX-TEMP (0F3) Temperature Probe<\/h3>\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open a File Explorer and navigate to C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Vernier GDX Firmware Update<\/li>\n<li>Connect your Go Direct Temperature to the computer with a USB cable.<\/li>\n<li>Double-click the GDX-Atmel-Firmware-Update.exe<\/li>\n<li>The updater should detect the connected probe and determine if it needs to be updated.<\/li>\n<li>If the device needs a firmware update, the updater will do so.<\/li>\n<li>The application will indicate whether the update was successful or not.<\/li>\n<li>Press Enter to close the updater.<\/li>\n<li>If you are updating more than one probe, unplug the first probe and connect the next.
