{"id":1797,"date":"2016-03-23T01:23:18","date_gmt":"2016-03-23T08:23:18","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2021-03-02T15:10:07","modified_gmt":"2021-03-02T23:10:07","slug":"1797","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vernier.com\/til\/1797","title":{"rendered":"How do I connect LabQuest to a printer?"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"notice\" style=\"border: 1px solid red; padding: 1em; text-align: center; margin-bottom: 1em;\">\n<h3>This information pertains to the original LabQuest and LabQuest 2.<\/h3>\n<p>If you have a LabQuest 3, see <a href=\"\/til\/8385\/\">this article<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>LabQuest can be connected to a printer via a USB cable or via the network.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<h2>Network:<\/h2>\n<p>You either need LabQuest 2, or an original LabQuest and a Vernier Wi-Fi USB Adapter (WIFI-USB, <em>discontinued<\/em>). The printer either needs to located on the same subnet as the LabQuest devise with Bonjour enabled on the printer\/network, or you need to know the IP\/Name address of the printer and the LabQuest device needs to be on a subnet that can connect to the printer. Go into the Printer Dialog (Original LabQuest: Home|Control Panel|Printers, LabQuest 2: Home|Preferences|Printers) and choose &#8220;Scan for Printers&#8221; or &#8220;Enter IP Address&#8221; buttons.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<h2>USB:<\/h2>\n<p>You will need to use a standard USB-A to USB-B connector. This is the same cable used to connect USB printers to a computer. It is also the same cable used to connect a LabPro interface to a computer. This cable is pictured at:<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vernier.com\/accessories\/access.html?cb-usb&amp;template=basic.html\">https:\/\/www.vernier.com\/accessories\/access.html?cb-usb&amp;template=basic.html<\/a><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Note: You cannot connect LabQuest to a printer using the mini-USB port on the LabQuest.
