The saved EasyData file is an <strong>AppVar<\/strong> (short for application variable).<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Transferring the file to other calculators<\/h3>\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>On the calculator with the data, choose <strong>3:Save As&#8230;<\/strong> from the EasyData File menu.<\/li>\n<li>Name the file as desired, (e.g. &#8220;boyles&#8221;), then choose <strong>OK<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Exit the EasyData app, then disconnect the sensor and\/or interface from the calculator.<\/li>\n<li>Using a unit-to-unit link cable, connect the calculator with the data with a calculator that needs the data. <\/li>\n<li>On each calculator, press <strong>[2nd][x,t,\u03b8,n]<\/strong> (Link) to launch the Link menu.<\/li>\n<li>On the Receiving Calculator\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Use the right arrow key to highlight <strong>RECEIVE<\/strong>, then press <strong>[Enter]<\/strong> to be <strong>Waiting&#8230;<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>On the Sending Calculator\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Use the up and down arrow keys to highlight <strong>C:AppVars&#8230;<\/strong>, then press <strong>[Enter]<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Use the up and down arrow keys to point the cursor (<strong>\u25b8<\/strong>) at the file you want to send (e.g., &#8220;boyles&#8221;), then press <strong>[Enter]<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Use the right arrow key to highlight <strong>TRANSMIT<\/strong>, verify the receiving calculator is <strong>Waiting&#8230;<\/strong>, then press <strong>[Enter]<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Once the transfer is complete, you can use both calculators to send data to other calculators.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Repeat Steps 4 \u2013 7 as needed to get the file to all lab group partners. <\/li>\n<li><strong>Note:<\/strong> for Step 7, as long as you haven&#8217;t exited the Link menu, you can use the right arrow key to highlight <strong>RESEND<\/strong> to transfer the file again, as the file will still be selected.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Once you have finished transferring the file, press <strong>[2nd][Mode]<\/strong> (Quit) to exit the link menu.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Opening the saved file in EasyData<\/h3>\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"10\">\n<li>One each student&#8217;s calculator, start the EasyData App. <\/li>\n<li>From the <strong>No Interface Connected<\/strong> screen, choose <strong>None<\/strong> to continue without sensors.<\/li>\n<li>Choose <strong>2:Open<\/strong> from the EasyData File menu, then select the file with your data (e.g., \u201cboyles\u201d).<\/li>\n<li>Choose <strong>Graph<\/strong> to view and analyze your data.<\/li>\n<\/ol>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The best way to make sure everyone in a lab group has the data is to save the EasyData file with the data, then transfer&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1698,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[],"tags":[207,1671,2572],"class_list":["post-1881","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","tag-calculator","tag-easydata","tag-transfer"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.vernier.com\/til\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1881","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.vernier.com\/til\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.vernier.com\/til\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.vernier.com\/til\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1698"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.vernier.com\/til\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=1881"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.vernier.com\/til\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1881\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.vernier.com\/til\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=1881"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.vernier.com\/til\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=1881"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.vernier.com\/til\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=1881"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
