{"id":2095,"date":"2012-10-23T21:39:02","date_gmt":"2012-10-24T04:39:02","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2025-02-06T09:56:18","modified_gmt":"2025-02-06T17:56:18","slug":"2095","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vernier.com\/til\/2095","title":{"rendered":"Mac: When I update Logger Pro, the Logger Pro 3 folder in Applications does not contain the application itself."},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-kb-palette-12-background-color has-background\"><strong>Logger <i>Pro<\/i> is no longer sold and will no longer receive updates.<\/strong><br \/>Logger <i>Pro<\/i> version 3.16.2 is the final release of the software.<\/p>\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Symptom<\/h3>\n<p>When the Logger <i>Pro<\/i> installer is run, the Logger <em>Pro<\/em> 3 folder in Applications is updated with the new release notes, but no Logger <em>Pro<\/em> application is installed.<\/p>\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Background<\/h3>\n<p>The issue is that there is another copy of the Logger <em>Pro<\/em> application somewhere on the computer, and the installer is finding and updating that copy instead of placing the application in the expected location.<\/p>\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Solution<\/h3>\n<p>To get out of this state, remove all copies of Logger <i>Pro<\/i> from the computer before reinstalling Logger <em>Pro<\/em>. Use these steps:<\/p>\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open Finder and type &#8220;Logger <em>Pro<\/em>&#8221; in the Search field.<\/li>\n<li>Select &#8220;This Mac&#8221; in the Search options.<\/li>\n<li>Move all copies of Logger <em>Pro<\/em> to the trash.<\/li>\n<li>Empty the trash.<\/li>\n<li>Now run the installer again and verify that the Logger <em>Pro<\/em> application icon appears in the Logger <em>Pro<\/em> 3 folder in Applications.<\/li>\n<\/ol>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Logger Pro is no longer sold and will no longer receive updates.Logger Pro version 3.16.2 is the final release of the software.
