We recently have two sets of lab activities that can be used in climate-related topics:<br \/>\n<strong>Middle School<br \/>\n<\/strong><a href=\"\/product\/weather-climate-water-vernier-supplement-to-openscied-unit-6-3\/\"><i>Weather, Climate, and Water Cycling: Vernier Supplement to OpenSciEd Unit 6.3<\/i><\/a> (<nobr>OSE-63WC-E<\/nobr>) is part of the our free supplement to OpenSciEd Unit 6.3.<\/p>\n<p><strong>High School:<\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"\/product\/climate-and-meteorology-experiments\/\"><i>Climate and Meteorology Experiments<\/i><\/a> (<nobr>HSB-CM-E<\/nobr>)<br \/>\nsupports <a href=\"\/product\/climate-and-meteorology-experiments-with-go-direct-package\/\">Climate and Meteorology Experiments with Go Direct<sup>&reg;<\/sup> Package<\/a> (<nobr>GDP-CM<\/nobr>)<\/p>\n<p>In November of 2010, Dave Vernier attended a conference at West Point Academy and learned that West Point had already been using Vernier sensors as part of the military education preparation for a changing climate. Most of the activities were from our existing lab books; they also had developed a few new ideas.<\/p>\n<p>In order to make it easier to teach about climate change, we decided to make four of the inquiry-style climate change activities available as a free download at:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vernier.com\/files\/sample_labs\/VST-climate-change-investigations.zip\">https:\/\/www.vernier.com\/files\/sample_labs\/VST-climate-change-investigations.zip<\/a><\/p>\n<p>These labs come from three different lab books:<br \/>\n<a href=\"\/product\/investigating-environmental-science-through-inquiry\/\"><i>Investigating Environmental Science through Inquiry<\/i><\/a> (<nobr>ESI<\/nobr>)<br \/>\n<a href=\"\/product\/investigating-chemistry-through-inquiry\/\"><i>Investigating Chemistry through Inquiry<\/i><\/a> (<nobr>CHEM-I<\/nobr>)<br \/>\n<a href=\"\/product\/investigating-biology-through-inquiry\/\"><i>Investigating Biology through Inquiry<\/i><\/a> (<nobr>BIO-I<\/nobr>)<\/p>\n<p>There are several other classroom activities that could be included in a climate-themed unit; these can be found at:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/spreadsheets\/d\/13WTfFnCDNSK4BxZoreH-j4gmLxeInZLQdzuVzrsl_Uw\/edit?usp=sharing\">https:\/\/docs.google.com\/spreadsheets\/d\/13WTfFnCDNSK4BxZoreH-j4gmLxeInZLQdzuVzrsl_Uw\/edit?usp=sharing<\/a><\/p>\n<p>RELATED<br \/>\nWe offer a full line of products to teach renewable energy concepts at a range of grade levels:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vernier.com\/products\/kidwind\/\">https:\/\/www.vernier.com\/products\/kidwind\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>We also recommend the work of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.priweb.org\/\">Paleontological Research Institution<\/a>, based in Ithaca, NY. This guide has many useful resources for incorporating climate change lessons into science programs.
