This article is for macOS computers with LabQuest 2 or LabQuest 3 only.<\/strong><\/p>\n

LabQuest 2 and LabQuest 3 can be viewed and controlled on a macOS computer using the Screen Sharing<\/strong> app, \"\", accessed through Finder, \"\". For security reasons, Screen Sharing<\/strong> can only connect to password protected servers, so it will be necessary to configure the LabQuest Viewer setting on your LabQuest to require a password.<\/p>\n

Setting up LabQuest<\/h3>\n
    \n
  1. Launch the \"\" Connections<\/strong> app on your LabQuest
    \u26ac LabQuest 3:<\/strong> Tap Settings, \"\", then choose Connections<\/strong>.
    \u26ac LabQuest 2:<\/strong> Tap Wi-Fi, \"\", on the task bar.<\/li>\n
  2. Ensure Wi-Fi is On<\/strong>, then connect your LabQuest to the same network your computer is on.
    (The LabQuest and the computer must be on the same network for this to work.)<\/li>\n
  3. Tap the Viewer settings icon.

  4. Ensure the LabQuest Viewer is On<\/strong>. Tap to select Require Password<\/strong>, then set the password.<\/li>\n
  5. Tap Close<\/strong> to save the settings and return to the Connections app.<\/li>\n
  6. Note the IP address of your LabQuest (shown in the lower left corner of the Connections app screen). You will need this to connect to your LabQuest.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Connecting to the LabQuest<\/h3>\n

    1. Launch Finder, \"\", then open the Go<\/strong> menu.<\/li>\n
    2. Choose Connect to Server<\/strong> (\u2318K).<\/li>\n
    3. Type in the IP address of your LabQuest preceded by vnc:\/\/<\/strong>
      (e.g., vnc:\/\/192.168.192.141<\/a> as shown below).

    4. Click or tap Connect<\/strong>, then enter the password you set on your LabQuest. <\/li>\n
    5. Once connected, the live LabQuest screen is shown on your computer, and the Screen Sharing app icon, \"\", is shown in the Dock. (Hint:<\/strong> For a fast way to reconnect to your LabQuest, Ctrl+click the icon and select Keep in Dock<\/strong> from the Options menu.)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Note: <\/strong>Multiple LabQuest devices can be opened in different windows using this same procedure.<\/p>\n

      Using Screen Sharing<\/h3>\n
        \n
      1. Display the LabQuest screen to your whole class by connecting your computer to a projector or large monitor.<\/li>\n
      2. Click or tap the LabQuest screen on your computer to control the LabQuest just as if you tapped the screen itself.<\/li>\n
      3. Choose Screen Capture<\/strong> from the Screen Sharing Connection<\/strong> menu to capture LabQuest screenshots for use in lab instructions, lab reports, or other documents.<\/li>\n
      4. To quickly reconnect to your LabQuest, launch Screen Sharing<\/strong> (from the dock). Choose Open Recent<\/strong> from the Connection <\/strong>menu and select your LabQuest from the list.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
