It also applies to the inductor installed on the <a href=\"\/product\/vernier-circuit-board-2\/\">Vernier Circuit Board 2<\/a> (<nobr>VCB2<\/nobr>).<\/p>\n<p>The resistance of the coil is less than 5 &Omega;.<br \/>\nThe inductor is rated at 200 W.<br \/>\nThe wire is 24 gauge copper wire.<br \/>\nThe effective parallel winding capacitance is 30.8 pf.<br \/>\nThe self resonance frequency is 403 KHz.<br \/>\nThe diameter of the hole in the center is 13.1 mm (0.520 inch).<br \/>\nThe nominal inductance is 5 mH. <\/p>\n<p>Above the self resonance frequency (f_res) it will look like a capacitor instead of an inductor.<br \/>\nGenerally, below (f_res)\/10 (40 KHz in this case) the capacitance is negligible. <\/p>\n<p>At 10 KHz the Q is 32(due to the 4.22 ohms of resistance in the tested sample)<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This article refers to the .
